Today’s Thoughts

A nice day here.

Be cautious: I saw a picture of the eclipse over Chichen Izta Pyramid in Mexico. I sent it to my brother. He responded “Photoshop”. I hadn’t checked. Duh…

Dr. visit went well. The PA suggested I check with Bone & Joint just to be sure there is nothing she missed. I’m getting better every day. Now at about 90%.

Good political news: former Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez who served for 8 years on the Navajo Nation announced today he is running for US Congress. I’m in the district he will represent. Happy Camper.

Tomorrow VP Kamala Harris is visiting our local University (NAU) as part of her ‘Fight for Our Freedoms’ tour. She will be meeting with staff and students and a few others. It was open to the public for about 75 people, and I was not included.

Enjoy

Beliefs of 60 years ago…

It Was Expected That Infants Should Quickly Adapt to the Family's Regular Eating Routines

At the age of nine weeks, it was expected for a baby to consume the same foods as the rest of the family. Surprisingly, it was believed that this practice could potentially deter the child from developing communist ideologies.

Random Trivia…

In Ancient Greece, wearing skirts was manly. In fact, Greeks viewed trousers as effeminate and would mock any men who wore them.

The UK government collected postcards as intelligence for the D-Day landings. This was an intelligence-gathering exercise. Initiated by Lieutenant General Frederick Morgan, he was searching for the hardest beaches to defend. The postcards were sent to the War Office and helped form part of the decision to choose Normandy as the location for the eventual D-Day landings.

Historic Events
