A windy day here in our little mountain town. I went to lunch with
a former colleague from Tuba. Interesting catch up. His wife is retiring from
TC and he retired about 4 years ago. They are having a retirement bash here in
Flag at the end of the month. He has been doing taxes for some tax preparing
company for the past few tax seasons and sure had some great stories about
clients. Guess I’m not as bad as I thought I was. I caught up on some Tuba
gossip and while it was interesting to learn who may be retiring, I’ve been
gone so long, it really doesn’t mean that much. I caught him up on my latest
trip to Cuba.

"I'll wager a
hundred dollars that, no matter what position you name on the board, I'll be

Thibedeaux, tired of
Boudreaux's windbaggery, shouted out an answer.
Boudreaux stammered
for a few moments and at first refused to pay. The other bar patrons, however,
made sure he held up his end of the wager. Boudreaux slammed a hundred dollar
bill on the counter and stormed out.

Once there was an Antartian that was down on
his luck. In order to get some money he decided to kidnap a kid and hold him
for ransom.
He went to the playground, grabbed a kid, took
him behind a tree and told him "I've kidnapped you."
The Antartian wrote a note saying "I've
kidnapped your kid. Tomorrow morning put $10,000 in a paper bag and put it
beneath the pecan tree next to the slide on the north side of the city
playground. Signed, An Antartian."
The Antartian then pinned the note to the
kid's shirt and sent him home to show it to his parents.
The next morning the Antartian checked, and
sure enough a paper bag was sitting beneath that pecan tree. The Antartian
opened up the bag and found the $10,000 with a note. The note said, "How
could one Antartian do this to another Antartian?!"

Really Happened
A man fooled a town in England into thinking he was their mayor by
setting up a fake Twitter account. A man going by James Billington created the
Twitter handle @mayorofStafford with a bio saying he's, "delighted to be
representing the town of Stafford & surrounding areas." He sent his
first tweet on March 8 and the people of Stafford quickly bought into it.
Billington staged a ribbon-cutting at a local theme park and even passed
around, "I'm the mayor of Stafford!" buttons. The Stafford town
council caught on to the hoax and asked Twitter to shut the account down. Honored

(@mayorofstafford) March 22, 2014. The real mayor is Angela Loughran and people
were feeling a bit foolish for being duped. "I feel so stupid, I believed
[James Billington was mayor.] How many people know the name of their town
mayor? There was no reason to disbelieve him," said Stafford resident Bal
Singh. The Twitter account is still active and tweeting his imaginary mayoral
duties.

Alzheimer’s
patients use to recall the past quite often, which is dangerous in case they
decide to leave the nursing house they’ re hosted in and go away without
warning.
For
this reason, nursing houses in Germany have come up with a smart idea that
prevent Alzheimer’s patients from
wandering around. They have put fake bus stations outside the nursing houses!
Once
the urge passes, and the patient can’t recall why they’re waiting, caregivers
can redirect the patient to another activity.
