Thoughts for the day
Another nice winter day.
I’ve had intestinal issues for about a
week. No OTC meds are working so I see my PCP tomorrow. I hope he has a
solution.
I did some shopping for essentials
this morning. I also had to get two packages of Cadbury Cream Eggs. I really
enjoy them but the price has certainly risen since last Easter season.
Forgotten American Heros…
Molly Pitcher
Molly Pitcher is a name given to
women who contributed to the American Revolution, with the most famous being
Mary Ludwig Hays.
She bravely took her husband's place
at a cannon during the Battle of Monmouth, earning her the nickname Molly
Pitcher. Her actions symbolized the vital role women played in wartime efforts.
The story of Molly Pitcher highlights
the courage and tenacity of women in history. Her legacy continues to inspire,
reminding us of the significant contributions women have made in shaping the
course of American history.
Common Misconseptions…
“Library of Alexandria was destroyed
deliberately and it was an important event. In fact, the only historically
attested destruction of library's contents (texts) was caused by Romans during
military actions against Alexandria. Accounts of the destruction of Museion and
Serapeion (buildings used for text storage and education) come from the times
when position of Library of Alexandria dwindled from the center of classical
education to a provincial school, thanks to proliferation of schools and
libraries in the Empire.”
