My
Rambling Thoughts
What a day with bureaucrats. A friend from the Rez has a son (24)
who tore his knee. He arrived on crutches at my house. The plan was to get his AHCCCS insurance straightened out today. He
did the injury in Flag on Sat and went to the local hospital who gave him
crutches and a knee brace, but couldn’t treat him anymore until he was signed
up for the AZ state insurance. A lady filled out the forms and told him to
check back today and make an appointment with Orthopedics. Phone call learned
that the lady who filled out the forms in on vacation. Referred to Winslow IHS
clinic to get more information. That lady says the AZ website was down all
weekend for maintenance. Called back to the hospital and another lady said she
would input the information today and call him with a tracking number. Still
waiting for that call 5 hours later. Pain meds are $200, which the family can’t
afford. So it’s Ibuprofin and ice packs. Tough guy is living through it. Sadly
it is a typical Rez story in trying to get medical care. All I had to do was
furnish the phone.
Then, yesterday I called my physician
for a renewal for my allergy meds. They called it in, but the pharmacy was out
until today. The pharmacy has been sending me renewal notices for one of my
thyroid meds, but the Dr. gave me a different dosage, so I ignored the renewal
and took the script to pick up today along with the allergy meds. Now they are
out of the thyroid meds. They’ll be in tomorrow. What a pain.

(answers at the end of post)
The
following riddle was originally printed in 1867 in "London Society".
On six feet, I am a noxious drink,
Of whose effects you shudder to think.
Change only my second foot, and then
You convert me into a horrible den
Where the culprit, who gave the noxious drink,
Awaits the fate of which you shudder to think.

likely not the case. Learn here the paradox of the situation.
Many
ancient Egyptian Pharaohs were overweight and unhealthy, in contrast to their

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually
checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site contains
mistakes and sadly once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it
and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the
Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
