MY FREE RAMBLING THOUGHTS

A decent day to run some errands. It was cloudy most of the day, but was warm enough to be outside and enjoy it. Gotta love Spring time in Flag.
I’m still trying to figure out the new blog posting software. It now sorta accepts fonts with bold and italic and even links. In the past I had to add that myself. I haven’t figured out why sometimes it puts text in white and sometimes in black. I also haven’t figured out why sometimes it posts in a smaller text that I want. The magic is still there.

DID YOU KNOW THAT…

~The best thing about a grill: cooking outside. The worst thing about a grill: the clean up. Always spray your grill with nonstick cooking spray before grilling to avoid sticking. This will cut your clean up time in half.
~An environmentally friendly toilet cleaner is vitamin C. Depending on how bad the stains in your toilet are, simply place 2 or 3 tablets in the water. Let stand for 2 or 3 hours, and flush.

SOMEWHAT USELESS INFORMATION…

The Spanish explorer Cortez brought tomatoes back to Europe from Mexico in 1519. Even then, almost 200 years passed before spaghetti with tomato sauce made its way into Italian kitchens.
***
The first American pasta factory was opened in Brooklyn, New York, in 1848, by a Frenchman named Antoine Zerega. He managed the entire operation with just one horse in his basement to power the machinery. To dry his spaghetti, he placed strands of the pasta on the roof to dry in the sunshine.
***
During the 1980s, macaroni, which was traditionally considered a "blue-collar" down-home meal, was transformed into the more upscale "pasta."

UNUSUAL NEWS ITEM:

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — A California woman facing nearly five years in prison for forging drug prescriptions showed up for sentencing with a phony doctor's note seeking a delay in the proceedings.
Michelle Elaine Astumian was free on $45,000 bail and pleaded no contest in January to felony counts of forgery and using a fraudulent check.
The 41-year-old woman arrived Monday for sentencing in a San Luis Obispo County courtroom and presented a note with a doctor's signature asking for a postponement.
Prosecutor Dave Pomeroy called the doctor, who said the note is a forgery.
The judge immediately ordered Astumian into custody and she collapsed to the floor. An ambulance took her to a hospital.
Pomeroy told the San Luis Obispo County Tribune that Astumian will be sentenced later, but he doesn't know when.

A LITTLE LAUGH:

A wife and her husband attended a very important business party thrown by her boss where the husband may have had one or two more than he should have.
On the way home from the party, the woman said to her husband, "Have I ever told you how handsome and sexy and totally irresistible to all women you are?"
"Why no," said the husband, deeply flattered.
"Then what gave you that idea at the party?!" she yelled.
