Rambling Thoughts…
Wow, who would have expected temps to drop so much, almost 20°…and
rain to boot. Not a day to be out and about for sure. It did give me a good
excuse to do laundry.
So hard
to understand crazy people. So hard to understand politics. So hard to
understand a God who followers believe endorses violence. I am shocked and
appalled by several things that happened today. First is the ‘mysterious’ low
budget film that angered so many Islamists. I viewed a clip of the film on You
Tube. It was disgusting, to say the least. Some say it was made by an Egyptian Coptic
living in the US, others say no one knows who made it. Whoever made it, it was
very Anti Muslim. This does not excuse the young who tore down the American
Flag and destroyed many American Flags in both the Egypt Embassy and Libya Consulate
and killed at least one in Libya. Since many in each country’s government knew
of planned protests and the US Embassy knew of the protests, how did they allow
the flags to be torn down? And on 9/11. The Anti-Muslim extremist who made the
film, the angry youth who attacked the US offices will take a long time for me
to understand. The film was only posted on You Tube. Seems they need to do some
review of the ‘offensive’ video policy.
Today is
a good day to listen to both Romney and Obama on Foreign Policy in planning my
vote in November. Just saying.

Associated Press--Modesty patrols in Jerusalem’s ultra-Orthodox Jewish community began selling special spectacles that prevent men from having to glimpse women. The glasses, which cost $8, have lenses that let men see clearly for a few yards ahead of them so they can walk. Everything beyond that, however, is a blur, including women who flout the ultra-Orthodox interpretation of religious law that dictates women appearing in public wear closed-neck, long-sleeved blouses and long skirts. Besides the blur-inducing glasses, the insular community’s unofficial modesty patrols offer hoods and shields that block peripheral vision.
