Rambling Thoughts
A very warm day…with very little breeze. It’s OK, as some clouds came in late in the afternoon and things are cooling off. It’s still way early for our annual monsoons, but the clouds are pretty dark and will hopefully drop some moisture. Thankfully my deck is well shaded, even though I hate the many falling pine needles. Nothing like sittin on the deck and reading the daily paper.TSA switches again…and still no knives allowed on planes. Probably a good idea. As more and more delays occur with passengers on the runways, tempers will flare. My last couple of flights have delayed with little or no reason given, until the delay ends. The Cabin Crews on my last flights have been far from happy to see the packed plane. My last flight announced that the overhead bins were full before my boarding group was even called. I went to the desk and asked the guy if I had to check it…he said ‘no, it will fit under your seat.’ I got to the boarding area and the ticket scanner said I had to check it. I said the guy over there said I didn’t. Well, we’ll see, put it in the measuring machine. It easily fit, she grimaced and allowed it on. When I finally got on, the overhead bin closest to my seat was NOT filled, nor were the two bins behind mine. I think what really bothered me is that with all these new rules, people are bring on bags that are way bigger than allowed, and aren’t stopped until the bins are full. If the early loading passengers had checked their huge bags, there would have been plenty of room. As the lady across the aisle said…’I’m waiting for the day that the entire overhead bins simply fall onto passengers.’

SKANE, Sweden - Three Swedish women will face charges they allegedly used severed animal parts to harass a group of 11 people, police said.The women -- a mother and her two daughters -- are accused of harassing and intimidating the victims with the remains of dead animals, the Swedish news agency TT reported. One of the victims is believed to be the ex-boyfriend of one of the attackers, the 10 other victims all had connections to that man, police said. "They've put dolls dressed up as people in a roundabout, and parts of slaughtered animals have been placed on the dolls. The goal was to humiliate people there," Robert Loeffel of the Kronoberg County Police told Sveriges Radio. "In one of the cases, we had a slaughtered pig's head that was sitting on a doll in a manner that suggested it was a human head." Since last spring, the women also allegedly vandalized cars, put up signs, and sent dozens of text messages and letters to the victims. Prosecutors are expected to file an indictment against the women this week on charges of unlawful persecution.
