Thoughts for the day
A nice warm day.
I headed out to get new windshield
wipers. The original manufacturer ones are 2 years old and not doing a good
job. I was shocked when I found that the 3 wipers cost $74. That seems
outrageous to me. I also discovered that trying to read the chart for the right
size was impossible for me to understand and had to find a clerk to help me.

Germany’s election has a moderate
winner, but the far-right party doubled its votes from a couple of years
ago. This is after the US administration
met with the far-right party.
Shocking: At the UN, the US voted with
Russia and China against a resolution that blamed Russia for the Ukraine
invasion.
The office that has been around for
decades and recently became known as DOGE just had 21 Federal employees resigning
saying that they cannot participate in what the office is currently doing.
Forgotten American Heros…
Nellie Bly
Nellie Bly was a pioneering
investigative journalist known for her daring exposé to the conditions of
mental asylums. By feigning insanity, she gained entry to a facility and
documented the inhumane treatment of patients.
Her tenacious reporting led to
significant reforms and increased public awareness about mental health care.
Bly’s fearless approach to journalism
broke new ground for women in the field. Her legacy as an advocate for social
justice and journalistic excellence continues to inspire future generations.
Common Misconceptions…
“That Rome and Ancient Greece were

When I was young all the cartoons were
for kids and pretty stupid. Now all the kid’s cartoons are educational and the
adult cartoons are the stupid ones.
