Free Rambling Thoughts

Busy day…started with my
PCP. He is really good and spends lots of time with patients. Appointment at
10:30. Entered room at 10:45. Dr. came in at 10:50. After reviewing all my
annual tests and changing my thyroid meds I was out at 12:10. Everything is OK,
but he is upping my thyroid meds, saying that I should feel better. Hmmm, didn’t
know I felt bad. But the blood test says I’m not making enough of whatever the
thyroid makes and that makes the pituitary ‘pissed off’—his words, so to keep
my pituitary happy I get more thyroid meds. Hmmm.
Then it was off to lunch
with Martha. Tomorrow is her birthday. We had a great salad bar at Sizzlers and
some good conversation. I brought her some Ethiopian freshly ground coffee. I’m
not a coffee drinker, but really liked their coffee. No bitter taste. She’ll
send me a report after drinking some tomorrow morning. My brother also got some
coffee. Both are big coffee drinkers so we’ll see if my paltry pallet is
correct.
Having a small problem
with my cable service. They are coming out tomorrow to tell me why I can’t get
NBCHD but get all the other HD channels. Strange for sure. The guy on the phone
rebooted my box three times and nothing changed. Someone will be here between
8a and 10a tomorrow. Guess I have to get dressed when I get up tomorrow. Oh
well.

- Dandelions are thought to have evolved about thirty million years ago in Eurasia. They were introduced to North America by early European immigrants.
- Dandelions are a member of Taraxacum, a large genus of flowering plants in the family Asteraceae.
- The common name dandelion comes from French dent-de-lion, meaning lion's tooth.
- Dandelions have very small flowers collected together into a composite flower head. Each single flower in a head is called a floret.
- The flower petals, along with other ingredients, are used to make dandelion wine. The ground, roasted roots can be used as a caffeine-free dandelion coffee. Dandelion was also traditionally used to make the traditional British soft drink dandelion and burdock, and is one of the ingredients of root beer.
- Dandelions are important plants for northern hemisphere bees, providing an important source of nectar and pollen early in the season. Dandelions are used as food plants by the larvae of some species of Lepidoptera (butterflies and moths).
Yeah, It Really Happened .
NEW YORK - A New York
man suing the studio that photographed his wedding said he is dissatisfied and
wants to recreate the event, despite the fact that he is now divorced.
Todd Remis, who is suing
H & H Photographers in State Supreme Court, said he wants the $4,100 he
paid the studio for photographing his 2003 wedding refunded and an additional
$48,000 to fly friends and relatives to the city and recreate the event for
another photographer to document, The New York Times reported Thursday.
Remis, who filed his
lawsuit in 2009, one year after separating from wife Milena Grzibovska and a
year before their divorce was finalized, said the photographers failed to take
any pictures of the couple's first dance and the bouquet toss. He said the
pictures that were taken “unacceptable as to color, lighting, poses, (and)
positioning." H & H owners Curt Fried, 87, and his son, Dan, said they
have already spent $50,000 in legal fees.
Dan Fried called the
case "an abuse of the legal system."
