My
Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts
The snow
arrived and is still falling from the sky. Probably a good 8” so far. Hard to
tell due to the wind moving all the snow. The snow crew was here before 8am,
but their work was recovered with snow by 9am. I went out about 10am and
cleared off my vehicle. It too is covered again. The Flag schools and local
universities are closed. Most city and county offices were on a two-hour delay.
The city trash collectors have been reassigned to snowplows. Looks like trash pickup
will be delayed a couple of days.
Mary and
Mike went to Phx for the weekend…they are still there until the snow stops.
They are getting rained on. Tuba, where it seldom snows has a couple of inches.
I’m just staying home.
Our country
is in a big dilemma. Climate change costing us millions. The US has stopped
some pipelines that could increase the amount of oil/gas available but only exacerbate
the negative environmental problems. The EU has stopped the Russian pipeline. This
means gas prices are higher and that is pushing up inflation on most goods that
are not from the local area. The right is claiming there is no proven evidence that
the pipelines are harmful. The left is saying to ‘just live with it’ to protect
democracy here and around the world. There are certainly no easy or clear decisions
to get out of this dilemma.
