Random Tidbits

 High-density lipoproteins (HDLs) are typically labeled "good" cholesterol because they have more protein than fat and, instead of ferrying cholesterol around the body as LDL does, HDL sucks up as much excess cholesterol as it can and takes it back to the liver.

High cholesterol itself typically does not have any symptoms, so many people are unaware they are at risk for heart attacks, strokes, and other heart diseases.

My Rambling Thoughts

Bone chilling…no walk today. I had hoped for moisture with this cold spell, but no such luck. The wind makes it feel like 28 outside. Furnace is running. My friend Mary called at 7am to let me know she had no electricity. She had her wood stove heating up the house. Power was back on by 8:30 when I checked on her. It is cold and that brings tragedy here. Two persons were found deceased in different locations  outside today. A chimney fire cause extensive damage to a home, and a tree fell on a home due to the wind and caused extensive damage to the home.

I just don’t get it. ACB was kinda sworn in at the White House with a crowd that was not wearing masks and not social distancing. I say ‘kinda’ because John Roberts wasn’t present, and Justice Thomas gave the oath. Turns out, when she shows up for work, John Roberts will really swear her in.

The Navajo Nation council began sending out applications for the money given by Congress to assist those in need due to the virus. Each chapter got numbered applications to distribute. Sadly, as elderly and disabled stood outside in rain or snow and cold, they ran out of applications at every chapter house. The online applications will be up on Nov. 2. No funds are released until sometime after Nov. 2, when they begin processing applications as they come in. So sad.

To add to the voter issues, every state has its own deadlines for receiving ballots. All states say they must be postmarked no later than election day. Some states say they have to be received by election day. Others give up to 3 days after election day to receive them. This is just getting crazier.
