My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts
Rain has
come to put out the Tunnel fire. Not a lot but every little bit helps. The red
flag warning was lifted due to this moisture.
I headed out
early do get groceries. I had to put on long pants due to the lower temps and
rain. Not complaining.
So far, 109
properties, 30 residences, and 24 outbuildings have been burned. Containment is
at 3%. So sad.
I grew up around
Republicans. Back then, their main cry was small government is good government.
From where I stand, that has reversed and now the Republicans want their
government making policy for everyone. The latest is in Florida when the governor
did not like a statement made by the Disney Corporation regarding a recent bill
the governor signed. Now Disney is set to lose its special status. Republicans from
the olden days must be turning over in their graves. It is a sad state of
affairs. I agree that government needs to have controls but not that those who
disagree should be punished.
