My Free Rambling Thoughts
Windy with clouds blowing in and out all day. Not as bad as expected, but still a lot of wind.
Was busy flipping channels this morning watching the two World Cup games to see if the USA would move on.  Both were good games. USA moves on.
A friend from the Rez dropped off three boxes I had left at his house from a long time ago. They appear to have been left there when I moved to Red Lake….mid 1980’s. They had been in his garage, behind lots of stuff for decades. So cool to get them back. Lots of family pics, early rez pics and other stuff. Throw back Thursday on FB is going to be fun for some time to come.
Cheryl and I went to Mary’s for lunch….to sit on her new patio furniture on her new patio. What a nice, quiet, beautiful setting. She lives in a secluded part of Flagstaff and so the wind was no problem, there are pines and aspen so you don’t really see the neighbors, and a great view of Mt. Elden, on the side I don’t see from my place. Both ladies have their kids and families coming for the 4th. That is also Mary’s b-day and I am invited to their annual 4th celebration. Cheryl will be with her family that day. We had Chinese delivered. Mike, Mary’s husband, was also there so it was a good afternoon.
My brother and his wife are off again…this time for Rome on business. Very nice!

Joke-of-the-day
At a recent computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated "If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving twenty-five dollar cars that got 1000 mi/gal."
Recently General Motors addressed this comment by releasing the statement: "Yes, but would you want your car to crash twice a day?"
Not only that, but....
Every time they repainted the lines on the road you would have to buy a new car.
Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason, and you would just accept this, restart and drive on.
Occasionally, executing a maneuver would cause your car to stop and fail and you would have to re-install the engine. For some strange reason, you would accept this too.
You could only have one person in the car at a time, unless you bought "Car95" or "CarNT". But, then you would have to buy more seats.
Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast, twice as easy to drive, but would only run on five percent of the roads.
The Macintosh car owners would get expensive Microsoft upgrades to their cars, which would make their cars run much slower.
The oil, gas and alternator warning lights would be replaced by a single "general car default" warning light.
New seats would force everyone to have the same size butt.
The airbag system would say "are you sure?" before going off.
If you were involved in a crash, you would have no idea what happened.
Rules of Thumb:
THE SURVIVAL RULE OF THREE
You can live three seconds without blood, three minutes without air, three days without water, and three weeks without food.

KUNA, Iowa (UPI) - What do you have to do to get arrested in Iowa? A Kuna family is upset that a naked, drunken man who allegedly pooped on their carpet and flooded their kitchen was only cited with two misdemeanors but not arrested. The Gillaspys woke up to a naked man walking around in their bedroom early on Sunday morning, but he quickly sprinted off into another room. "My husband grabs the gun because we have no idea who this guy is," Tricia Gillaspy told KTVB. "He's like, 'Get out of my house, now!' But the guy wouldn't leave. So, he puts the gun to his head, and says, 'I said, get out!'" The suspect, Matthew Coomes, left the home after 911 was called, but he was still milling around outside when police arrived. Then everyone saw what the 25-year-old allegedly did downstairs. "He took this sink sprayer out and this drawer was in there. He put it in the drawer, turned it on full blast hot water, it filled that entire drawer full. It flooded my entire kitchen," Gillaspy said. "He craps on my floor, and he must have been playing in it because he streaked it down the side of my walls. The stain is gone finally, thank goodness." Instead of being arrested, Coomes was cited with two misdemeanors. The Kuna Police have since admitted that the responding officer probably should have arrested Coomes and it's possible that Ada County prosecutors could charge him with a felony count of malicious injury to property.
Somewhat Useless Information
In 1995 Pierre Omidyar created a website called ‘AuctionWeb’ with categories of things that he thought people might want to sell.
People could post adverts of things they wanted to sell giving a minimum price and the seller would accept the highest offer.
This network was really successful and Omidyar started charging for this service. He realized that he made more money from it rather than his job.
He renamed his site as “eBay” and has now thousand categories, as well as users!

George Burns was an American comedian, actor and writer, who had characteristic arched eyebrow and cigar smoke, and won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1975.
In 1983 he wrote a book called ‘How To Live To Be 100 – Or More – The Ultimate Diet, Sex and Exercise Book‘ and the awkward thing about it is that Burns died 100 years old (born in 1896 – died in 1996)!
Some other of his books are “Dr. Burns’ Prescription for Happiness: Buy Two Books and Call Me in the Morning” (1884), “Wisdom of the 90′s” (1991) and “100 Years 100 Stories” (1996).

Did you know that a person is murdered every 21 minutes in Venezuela and that crime there is so prevalent there that government doesn’t produce data anymore. Among the most frequent crimes are armed robberies, carjackings and kidnappings.
Crime rates are higher after dark and the government was enforced to create a security force called Bolivarian National Police.
Moreover, Venezuela is ranked fourth in the world for cocaine seizures, after Colombia, the United States, and Panama.

Disclaimer: All opinions are mine…feel free to agree or disagree.
All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site has mistakes and sadly once out the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
