My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts

Expecting some rain that may end our heat wave. Can’t happen too soon for me.

Looking forward to a quiet weekend with some moisture falling from the sky. It never hurts to dream. It smells like rain, There is lightning and thunder. Just no moisture...yet.

I did watch the Jan 6th Hearings last night. It sure brought back memories of how close we came to losing our democracy. I had hoped this would unite the country. Listening to some Fox News, that ain’t gonna happen until they win. Sad.

In addition, I don’t see much hope for Dems in November unless they stop the crazy gas prices and the horrific inflation rate. The LA conference of bringing this hemisphere together isn’t getting a good look either. We need all the governments at the table to find solutions. It is not looking good for the Dems on either the Homefront or the international front. Sad.Favorite Memes

Everyday Phrases with a Dark Meaning

To wreak havoc

We tend to associate this phrase with things getting out of control and the destruction that may come with it.

The origins of the phrase actually mean the same, but it was used on the battlefield to give soldiers permission to do whatever they wanted, including committing slaughter. The practice was outlawed in England in the 1300s.
