My Rambling Thoughts
Yesterday started as a lazy day as two different friends stopped by last night. We stayed up way late talking and watching Netflix. One friend didn’t leave till late in the afternoon so I didn’t take the time to do a post.
Finally, our leader spoke out against hate groups by name. Finally. This, of course, is after the WH tweet condemning all those ‘nephew-nazi’ people that are running around. He calls it an executive action, not an executive order. A little research showed me the only real difference is that an executive order must be published in the Federal Register, none of the other signings need to do that. Yet whenever this leader signs a piece of paper, it is put in a fancy leather folder and he sits at a table, signs it, passes the pen to someone, holds it up for the press and walks out of the room. It is all nothing more than theater. For some reason, unknown to me, the press snaps away and the news networks play it live, followed by numerous replays. Each network seems to believe that each of these signings is of historic importance or that if they don’t cover the signing, another network will and get more viewers. It’s time for all the networks to simply tell the WH that they will no longer attend these theatrical experiences.
I am beginning to believe that Russia’s meddling has won if their goal was to get our country to question our democratic choices. Our democracy is in crisis. There are still enough sane people in government’s 3 branches to fix this. But it is becoming a tougher uphill climb with each passing day.
