My Rambling Thoughts
Not a bad fall day. Chilly last night. Leaves are quickly turning. Did some quick shopping this morning. Cleaned a little, vacuumed, and took out the trash.

More great news from DC. If the current healthcare bill does not pass, they will figure out a way to bring it up again. This reminds me of the movie Groundhog Day where we just relive the same day over and over.

Broncos lost. Wasn’t available on my TV here in AZ. Probably a good thing. Just waiting for the Cards tonight.

Also wondering what the two teams will be doing during the National Anthem. 45 just can’t take care of the business of his current job and keeps drawing attention away from the important stuff. I wish the news media on all sides would take a course in ‘How to deal with a bully’. All the literature talks about how important it is to ignore the bully. Well, surprise…it ain’t that easy when you are the one being bullied.

Interesting…Trump signed a memorandum for $200million/year to go to STEM education in schools. Lots of cute kids, teachers, and Cabinet members were present. Let’s hope this actually happens.

Bizarre News
A groom in the United Kingdom thought his bride was very generous when she offered to arrange his bachelor party. However, the deceitful woman had other plans as she ran away with money and called off the wedding.

Chris Mahone, 27, and his friends were excited to travel to Ibiza, Spain, to celebrate his bachelor party.

The group of 29 friends paid a total of 13,200 British pounds (about $17,500) for the airline tickets and hotel rooms. However, when the group arrived at the Leeds-Bradford airport, they learned that they had been conned by the bride, 29-year-old Rachel Doran. Doran had given the men documents, which appeared to be from a tour company, but they turned out to be fake.

After learning that their tickets were never paid for, the groom called the hotel, where they were supposed to stay, and he learned that the rooms were never booked either.

When Mahone tried called his fiancee for an explanation, she had vanished from the home they shared, and she went into hiding.

Since some of the men had taken time off from work, they decided to go ahead with their planned trip despite losing their money to Doran's scam.

However, the brokenhearted groom was not in the mood of going on a trip. He went home to file a police report against Doran.

Mahone posted a message on Facebook, in which he apologized to his friends. "I totally want to apologize to all my fantastic mates who were going to celebrate what was supposed to be my stag do. I can't apologize enough. I'm sorry boys, I really am."

My Rambling Thoughts
Cool Sunday with a very cool breeze, cloudless sky. Glad it is Sunday and I can relax and enjoy. Oh, wait, I can relax most days.

Sunday morning talk shows still giving every angle of the 45 v NFL/NBA. Most sane people commenting remind us that the first amendment is still in effect. Too bad so many have to be reminded. I’m reminded of the anonymous quote: "You can't understand someone until you've walked a mile in their shoes." Agreement or disagreement is fine, just don’t stop free speech. Empathy should reign.

A little more on free speech. Tech geeks here and from other countries can now program bots to make comments and posts on social media. These programs can put a post on anyone’s site at any time. They can say that ‘The world is ending in 5 minutes’, ‘I love puppies’, ‘Sen. X hates you’, or anything else. Social media companies should be stopping all bots, as programs can’t be social.  That alone would at least slow down any interference by many to spread lies. Of course, we has humans, have a responsibility when it comes to ‘likes’, ‘following’, or ‘friending’. I get several ‘friend requests’ from people I don’t know. I always check their page. Usually it is some ‘person’ with no friends listed, no mutual friends, and very few posts. Why would I want that ‘person’ as a friend?  I don’t. Same goes for ‘followers’ who I don’t know. We all have to take responsibility when it comes to free speech.

*-- Dumbbell Gets 'Manhood' Caught in Dumbell --*

Firefighters in a German city said it took about three hours to free a man who had "a very sensitive part of the body" stuck in the center hole of a dumbbell weight. The Feuerwehr Worms Fire Department said in a Facebook post that firefighters responded to a hospital in the appropriately named city of Worms after a man at a local gym ended up with a dumbbell disc stuck around his penis. The firefighters said it took them about three hours to break through the 5.5-pound weight using tools including a grinder and a hydraulic saw. The post included a photo of the dumbbell weight broken into five pieces. "Please do not imitate such actions!" the Facebook post said.

My Rambling Thoughts
A windy Saturday here. Very cool temps last night. Not a day to be out and about.

Exhausted by 45’s tweets. Now the leader of our country is having Kindergarten exchanges with the NFL and NBA. If for nothing else, he will be remembered as the Great Divider. Someone needs to remind him that he is the President, not the Emperor. In a free society, we have the right to disagree with just about everything. When I was back in 4th grade my teacher, Miss Bolen, was a JW. Two words had been recently added to the Pledge. Her religion did not allow her to say the then-new phrase ‘Under God’. On the first day of the school year, she talked to us about the fact that she couldn’t be in the room during the Pledge for religious reasons. She appointed a student each morning to lead the Pledge and quietly left the room. When we finished she returned and taught us. Good solution. If this came up in today’s world, a great teacher would have probably been fired. Sad.

*------------ Euro Turning to Crap ------------*

Prosecutors in Switzerland are investigating mysterious instances involving thousands of euro bills turning up in toilets. The first bundle of 500 euro bills turned up several months ago in a bathroom near a UBS Group AG bank vault at a branch in Geneva. Days later, even more, banknotes appeared inside toilets at nearby restaurants causing damage that required expensive repairs to unclog the pipes. Police have collected tens of thousands of euros -- many apparently cut with scissors -- from the pipes and are working to determine where the mystery bills came from. "We are not so interested in the motive but we want to be sure of the origin of the money," Vincent Derouand, of the Geneva prosecutor's office, said. Derouand added neither throwing away the bills nor clogging the toilet are considered crimes and there was no reason to believe the money was obtained nefariously.

Disclaimer: All opinions are mine…feel free to agree or disagree.
All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site contains mistakes and sadly once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
