My Rambling Thoughts
Our
peaks are covered with snow, with a small dusting around town. Guess fall has
officially arrived. And it has been raining most of the day at my place. A nice
Female rain, just what we need.
Very
happy with the Buffs win yesterday. Not too excited about the Broncos, but at
least I get to watch them on live TV. The Cards played a good first half.
I
am happy that Flagstaff City Council voted to change to ‘Indigenous People’s Day’,
it is only a first step in recognizing the many different cultures we have
here. Sad to see how many Americans still think Chris discovered this land.
First: it was fully inhabited by Indigenous people, so it was already ‘discovered’.
Second: he missed Florida and landed somewhere else in the Caribbean. It was
Italians that worked so hard to end their discrimination here by perpetuating
the myth that an Italian even landed here. It has been the time for teach true
history for decades. It is time to honor the cultures that make up America.
