My Rambling Thoughts
Not a surprise,
but today is windy again. Sun is shining, most of the sky is blue, temperature
is warm…decent fall day.
I headed out
early to pick up a few things, then returned to my non-windy interior.
Wind like this
always brings back memories of the Rez’s fine red sand that stuck to my face,
stuck in my hair, stuck in my ears, etc. I remember that my parents came to
visit me in Shonto. My dad was a ‘fix-it-guy’, something I barely learned. I
had a bedroom socket that wasn’t working. He took off the cover plate and a
stream of fine red sand ran down to the floor. He fixed the socket. So, being
the great dad he took off every cover plate in my apartment and cleaned out all
the sand. The apartment was only about 6 years old when I moved in. I’m sure no
one has done that since.
Looking forward to
a quiet weekend. It’s fair season on the Rez, so most of my friends from there
are heading for Shiprock Fair this weekend, and Tuba Fair next weekend. So I
doubt if any Rez visitors will stop by.
Our Discussion
group has finished all the topics in the book, but will be meeting some Sat. in
October to discuss ‘Artificial Intelligence’. I’m just waiting for an email
with the readings.
