My
Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts
A nice winter
day. I’m doing a couple of loads of laundry.
Preparing for possible jury duty by having some clean clothes.
Like so many
post season’s game, the Super Bowl sure kept everyone watching. The halftime entertainment
was for a much younger generation than I’m in. I was sort of hoping the Bengals
would win, but it was a good game. A sidenote: Austin Corbett, Rams offensive guard,
is a Walker River Paiute tribal member in Nevada. Cool.
This is not
a tech day for me.
1. Last week I left a voicemail at the
doctor’s to renew a script. I had to call this morning since they never renewed
the script. I prefer speaking to a human when I’m calling my doctor’s office.
2. I stopped at Walgreens to pick up another
script. The drive-on window had no one waiting. After pulling in, the tech
recognized me and said my script was ready…but she couldn’t sell it to me
because their cash register was ‘down’. I said ‘then just give it to me.’ She
laughed. I said I’ll come inside. She said no cash register in the pharmacy was
working. She suggested coming back tomorrow.
3. Then I stopped at the bank for my weekly
cash needs. The drive thru and the outside ATM were not working. Thankfully,
the lobby that has been closed since November…due to Covid and keeping employees,
was open today. I waited a line at the indoor ATM to get my cash.
4. I registered with a site to go to Tahiti
and after filling in all the information on three different pages found out I must
register 30 days before the trip…I was too early so couldn’t finish that
either.
5. I called my brother on What’s App to wish
them a happy Valentine’s Day. The call wouldn’t go through. I got a text from
him that he was in line with his wife and dog to fly back home in Merida and
that the internet connection was too iffy for a call. So, we just texted for a
few minutes.
