Thoughts
Lots of dark
clouds. Hoping the monsoon arrives today. Yesterday it rained in West Flag, but
our East side was left dry. Maybe today it will wander over here.
Since Verizon
never called me back, I called again. I spoke to a very nice supervisor. She gave
me good information: There is a difference between 5G-Nationwide and 5G-Ultra.
The Ultra is not available in Flagstaff, yet. The nationwide is really 4G with
the ability to use 5G where it is available. Also, my address is not on the list
to have Verizon Home internet. She said it was hard for local store employees
to explain the intricacies of internet service to customers because it was
complicated. I told her she did a good job and should be the trainer for
employees in Flagstaff. Bottom line, no 5G phone for me just yet.
The Uvalde school
tapes were released by a news organization before the families had an opportunity
to see them. Since it was a local group that released them, they could have and
should have notified the families that they had them and they were going to
release them. Even better would have been to offer the families an opportunity
to view the tapes before they were released. As Ricky Ricardo used to say…there
needs to be lots of ‘splaining. The officers and leaders involved have put a
very bad light on public safety.
I am old
school. If you want a job, you take the necessary training and classes, apply
for the job, get the proper credentials, and do the work. One group I am not
happy with are the Uber drivers who don’t have to have the training,
certificates, insurance, and vehicles to drive people around…taking business away
from the full-time taxicab drivers. Now AZ is on my list for allowing anyone
enrolled in a BA program can be hired as teachers in school districts that have
problems finding certified teachers. Not everyone who has a driver’s license should
be able to make money by driving strangers around. Not everyone enrolled in a
BA program should be allowed into a classroom to be the teacher. Real training
should be required.
