Cold night, decent fall day.

Sean Penn flew to Ukraine to loan Zelenskyy and the people of Ukraine his Oscar and invited Zelenskyy to come to Mailbu, when they win the war to return it. A little weird but newsworthy.

Twelve states now have female governors. WOW!

The Cards beat the Rams, but the Broncos lost to the Titans. It sure is a crazy season.

I did some Xmas shopping this morning. Almost done…but have until Friday then off to Mexico.

Little known Native American History

In the movies, male Native American warriors rode off to battle while their female counterparts remained behind to cook, sew, and take care of the camp. In real life, this wasn't always the case. Many warrior Native American women fought alongside men. The most famous of these was probably Buffalo Calf Road Woman, a member of the Northern Cheyenne tribe who fought in the Battle of the Rosebud and the Battle of Little Bighorn. In fact, according to the elders of the Northern Cheyenne tribe, it was she who dealt Custer his final deadly blow. Buffalo Calf Road Woman is just one of many incredible women you didn't read about in history class.

Bum-rush

We've all seen moments when crowds bum-rush the field when their teams win an important game. It essentially means a great force. Its origins? Well, it was used back in the 19th century to convey eviction or dismissal of freeloaders in saloons.

A typical fall day.

AZ is still working on our Gov results. I remember growing up and hearing about countries that had elections and the voters didn’t hear for days or weeks the outcome. I thought it was crazy then, and I know it is crazy now.

President Biden was busy at the Climate Conference and how is off to meet with Pres. Xi of China. Good luck.

Broncos play today. Cards play today. I’ll see what happens.

Getting more excited about my Thanksgiving trip to Mexico.

My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts

It’s another nice fall day. I was out and about getting gas at Sam’s, when I stopped in to the new Home Goods store, that took over BB&B’s space. A nice store with lots of stuff. Didn’t need any stuff so I just browsed.

The AZ election results are being made public at a snail’s pace. In my congressional district the incumbent Dem lost to a Republican. Sec. of State has gone to a Dem over an election denier. Mark Kelly, a Dem remains our senator. No decision on the Gov race yet. Lake, the Trumpian candidate, still believes she will win. Every day she adds to her list of ‘during hour one of day one I will…’. So far it is to fix the election process, close the border, declare several emergencies to help with the border crisis, and the list goes on. I’m hoping she has checked out the office printer so she won’t be out of ink, like happened with the voting machines in her county.

It is interesting that all those people who told Kaepernick and LeBron to “stick to sports” haven’t said a word to Herschel Walker.

I leave next Saturday for my Thanksgiving/Early Christmas in Mexico. Getting excited.
