Thoughts for the day

The wind has returned. Note to weather…it is now summer, wind is a spring and fall thing. Cut it out.

I’m enjoying the day, but decided the wind would prevent me from a nice long walk. My port incision still itches every now and then. Otherwise, all good.

A friend from the Rez stopped by for a visit of a couple of hours last evening. Nice.

Historic Figures who never existed…

Jesus©Pixabay on Pexels

Jesus, believed to have been born in 6-4 BCE before his supposed death in Jerusalem in 30 CE, is a central figure of Christianity and is often thought to be the Incarnation of God. Yet, while he's highly worshipped, there doesn't seem to be any physical or archeological proof that he ever existed at all. The most detailed accounts of his life come from the four Gospels and the New Testament, though he has been referenced by historians outside of these religious texts.

Thoughts for the day

It’s a breezy day.

My port placement was simple yesterday. My first treatment was moved to Monday, but that’s ok.

I have occasional bouts with ‘Why me?’ due to my medical issues. Then I go to a medical office and see many patients who are much worse shape than I am. Then I am happy that I can deal with all this and stay positive.

I’m happy that Trump is waiting 2-weeks to decide if he will bomb Iran. Sadly, that also gives Iran time to move its centrifuges out of harms way. I do wish he was more of a diplomat, keep his cards close to his vest, and not give information to the enemy that is beneficial to them.

Historic Figures who never existed…

Helen of Troy©Evelyn De Morgan on Wikimedia

If you're familiar with Greek mythology, Helen of Troy is said to have been the most beautiful woman in Greece and allegedly sparked the Trojan War—at least, that's how her life was detailed in Homer's Odyssey and Iliad. But perhaps the fact that she's a prominent figure in Greek mythology offers a telling clue: she likely never was a real person.

Thoughts for the day

A nice warm spring day.

Flagstaff and Coconino County are starting Stage 2 fire restrictions today. As I see it, better safe than sorry.

Trump Administration strikes again. The entire Fulbright Scholarship Board has resigned. While they have been independent for 80+ years, now Trump says he has final say on all scholarships. This is just more craziness to drive Americans into insanity.

Historic Figures who never existed…

Pope Joan©Unknown author on Wikimedia

The legend about Pope Joan started circulating in the 13th century, claiming that she reigned for slightly over two years from 855 to 858, under the disguise of a man who rose through the ranks. However, it's now widely believed by scholars that the lady pontiff is pure myth; for one, there doesn't seem to be concrete evidence of her existence, and her supposed rule overlaps two highly documented popes, St. Leo IV and Benedict III, who served between the years of 847–855 and 855-858.nd
