My Rambling Thoughts

Another great fall day…warm, blue sky, almost no breeze. However; our forests need moisture and a good amount. Ready for any moisture, including snow.

Did some shopping and saved some money. I’m not a big WalMart shopper, but do buy household things, bird seed, etc. there. They have a program called ‘Savings Catcher’. One can quickly enter every receipt to the app on the phone. Any item that is cheaper somewhere else gives you that much credit. Today I cashed in $49 worth of savings…about 8 months of shopping. As my mom would say…easy-peasy.

While AZ Senator John McCain is trying to bring statesmanship back to this country, the kindergarten name-calling continues: 45 uses ‘Little Rocket Man’ and now N. Korea responded with ‘Mad Dog Trump’. Seriously, everybody just grow up.

My Rambling Thoughts

Headed out this a.m. to get a pedi. So much easier than trimming my own. Also, enjoy the foot/leg massage.

On the way home, I picked up my mail…Whoopee, I have Jury Duty on Nov. 2. It’s always a ‘maybe’ until the day before after 5p. I’ll do my duty and not try to get out of it. It is also the municipal court, so even if I get picked, it is seldom over 2 days.

I’m a big fan of Star Talk with Neil deGrasse Tyson. It is on National Geographic Channel on Sunday night. If you haven’t caught it yet, it is certainly worth a watch or a show to DVR. Kareem Abdul Jabbar talked about the physics of basketball and some of his many projects to help kids.

Bizarre News

*------ Never Bring a Gun To a Gun Fight? ------*

Police in Detroit released surveillance video, which showed 29-year-old Sanchez Quinn trying to rob two men, who are cousins, at gunpoint outside the Super X Market. The suspect was seen pulling a gun and pointing it at the two victims. One victim was able to push the gun away and the two victims tried to escape. At that point, Sanchez fired some shots in their direction, hitting one man. The second victim, who was a Concealed Pistol License holder and was armed, pulled his own gun and shot Sanchez. Police said that the video evidence showed that this was a case of self-defense. Sanchez will be charged after he is released from the hospital. The victim who was shot is also recovering at a hospital.
