My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts

Cold front moved out. Warm Day, sunny and great day for a walk. It was a short one as I also did my weekly shopping.

I’m watching Andy and Faith’s place until next Saturday. Her dad passed in Indiana. She knew it was coming and visited him for a couple of weeks a few months ago. Still hard to lose a parent.

I talked to Cheryl, a former colleague. She’s doing fine in Williams. She is taking her dog for grooming in Ashfork next week. “Two” is a dog with very curly hair and needs professional grooming several times a year. She got her first Covid shot last week with only a sore arm. Her son in California got his first shot this week with no problem. Her sisters in Michigan also got their first shots today.

Not expecting this chilly day. Too cool for a long walk.

Hmmm…it is being reported that on January 6^th, security enforcement did NOT check backpacks, purses, or other items usually checked at a rally that includes the President. I must wonder why.

The Feds have found the parents of 105 of the over 500 kids being held at the border. Unite them and find the other parents…NOW!

Our local Flagstaff schools will reopen for 5-day a week classes on March 22, following spring break. Some grades start that day and others follow over the next week.

I’ve read a lot about masks. First it was one mask, now it is two. A recent pundit suggested that we will be wearing masks until babies evolve to have organic face covering at birth.

Covid has been shown to be a global threat to human life. Every country in this world needs the vaccine. Without that, the virus will continue to mutate and spread. At some point it is likely that one or more of the mutant strains will be resistant to the current vaccines. There is now a global push for developed countries with a vaccine to send a percentage to countries that do not have access to the vaccine. I’m all for it but expect many Americans will say ‘only after all Americans have been vaccinated’. If that happens, it could mean that when that as the mutant spreads, America will have to go back to square one and invent a new vaccine for the whole country…again.

Another day of sun and warm weather. Storm coming this weekend, have to enjoy this great weather while it lasts.

Space geeks win again. As many watched the descent of Mars Perseverance to the surface of Mars everyone saw the oddly designed red and white parachute. The next day, the geeks on earth decoded the binary code of the parachute. It said: DARE MIGHTY THINGS.  

Trying to get two scripts filled at Walgreens for pick up tomorrow. One had 3 refills and the other needed a new script from my doctor. I called the doctor to call it in. I then called in the other one. First text-message was ‘there is an insurance problem’ and we will contact you. Second text-message said ‘we have to order the prescription’. Third text-message said ‘you have zero refills, should we call your physician’. I called to see what was going on. They weren’t sure because both scripts were awaiting pick-up and covered by insurance. Crazy!
