My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts

A decent day. Cleaned the master bath and my bedroom. All clean and fresh.

Lots of activity between Ukraine and Russia. Looks like Russia did a cyber-attack on the Ukraine’s government offices and threatened destruction.  Many see this as a ‘false flag’, that will lead to an invasion. Not a good sign.

Flagstaff’s Municipal Equality Index has not improved since 2018. The MEI examines how inclusive municipal laws, policies, and services are of LGBTQ+ people who live and work there. Cities are rated based on non-discrimination laws, the municipality as an employer, municipal services, law enforcement and leadership on LGBTQ+ equality. Flagstaff is stuck at 88% while Phoenix, Tempe, Scottsdale, and Tucson all scored 100%. Time for our local government get busy.

Tsunami advisory was issued to the US West Coast after an underwater volcanic eruption in Tonga. The advisories also include New Zealand’s North Island, and parts of Japan. The capital of Tonga has been evacuated due to waves of water and ash falling from the sky. WOW

My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts

A nice winter day.

I made a quick run to my blood doctor’s new office for some paperwork for a blood draw. Same Doctor, new Company. I now have many forms to fill out before my next visit.

While I was out, the Grounds Crew trimmed some trees. I’m happy because the Blue Spruce in my front area had long branches that block the sidewalk when it snows.

Biden’s Private company vaccine policy was overturned by the Supreme Court. This just adds to several tough losses he has had this week. Sad.

King Soopers workers are on strike. I worked in the grocery business through high school and college. I had to join the union when I became a clerk. I never worked at King’s, but I do understand the need for more pay. It would be difficult, if not impossible to raise a family for these workers at their present wages. While the grocery business helped me pay for college, it wouldn’t have by today’s costs.

My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts

A warmish day with high clouds.

Inflation keeps rising. It is now at a 40-year high. This is especially difficult for those elders on a fixed income. I certainly fit the elder category, but I do have some investments that help with the inflation. I know it is hard for so many. Even so, our grocery stores here have fewer products and more empty shelves. The Navajo Rez only has one grocery store chain with about 5 stores to cover the entire reservation. Bashes, the grocery chain, announced yesterday that they are struggling to get items to the rez because of lack of products needed and too few truckers to deliver the products. Many members of smaller communities are already driving over 50 miles just to get to a Bashes and then finding only empty shelves. So sad.

Prince Andrew, the playboy of Buckingham Palace, has been stripped of his military titles and charities amid a sex abuse lawsuit. There has been lots of tabloid news about his connection with Jeffery Epstein.
