Another
nice day…staying a little cooler.
A
nice long monsoon yesterday to keep things cool. A nice female rain for about 2
hours.
Narcissistic
Personality Disorder is identified by arrogance, preoccupation with power;
interpersonally exploitive for personal gain; lack of empathy; must be admired;
inability to accept any criticism; feels entitled, always a victim.
As
Trump heads for another indictment, his PAC has already paid over $40 million
on legal fees this year. Some $$ for his defense, some for others who helped him
and are now charged.
I
picked up my CPAP supplies this morning and returned all the stuff I needed during
my Rhino virus a few weeks ago. Nice to have all that behind me.
Finally
caught up on my laundry. Everything clean, laundry baskets empty, everything in
the closet or bureau. A nice feeling.
Native
Americans with tribal ID receive free healthcare from the US government, but treaty
in the late 1860’s. However starting in about 2000 they were forced, if they filed
income taxes, to buy their own health insurance. Natives can only get any ‘free’
healthcare at an approved facility. Here are a couple of stories I am familiar with…A
native from Chinle had numerous health issues. He was sent to Phoenix for
treatment. That’s about 250 miles from his family. He was finally assigned to a
rehab center in Blanding, UT. That’s 123 miles from home. Then he had more
major health issues and was transferred to Provo, UT. That’s 387 miles from
home. Another story, a Tuba City Native was transferred to Phx for specialized treatment.
That is 225 miles from home. Patient then transferred to Tucson. That’s 270
miles from home. The families of both patients are responsible for their own transportation
to and from the medical center to visit the relative and for finding a place to
stay. This is a huge cost for the ‘free’ care. Especially since there are ‘non-approved’
facilities closer to home.

Some
of the world's worst disasters were caused, in part, by sleep deprivation.
A
1988 study on a number of manmade disasters found that, "sleep and sleep-related factors
appear to be involved in widely disparate types of disasters," according
to HuffPost.
Disasters
that were in part the result of sleep deprivation include the explosion of the
Chernobyl nuclear power plant; the Three Mile Island accident, where a nuclear
reactor's core overheated; the Challenger explosion; and the Exxon Valdez oil
spill. Moral of the story: don't skip out on those Zs, especially if you work
at, say, a nuclear power plant.
Hoax proved wrong…
"Great Moon Hoax"
A series of six articles
published in The Sun, a New York newspaper, beginning on August 15, 1835,
suggested weird bat-like creatures had been discovered on the Moon. The paper
claimed that eminent astronomer Sir John Herschel was the source. Richard
Locke, a reporter working for the paper, later admitted to the hoax.

The first official Medals of
