Free Rambling Thoughts
I got a call from a former teacher at Tuba. She and her recently college graduated  daughter who were traveling  through Flag. Nice to see them both. Gail is happy teaching in Browning Montana, her hometown. Brandi, whom I’ve known since her birth, is working on a grant to study how antibiotics react with different parts of the body. I told her my tendonitis story and she was fascinated and explained it to me so that I really understood it. Brandi was returning from 3 weeks in the Bahamas, her first international trip. She went alone, stayed on couches through couch surfing website. Pretty adventurous. Very cool.

I’m really getting ready for the trip…picked up needed cash, notified bank of travel so my cards will work over there, notified newspaper and post office. I leave on Tuesday morning so still have time for packing. The pain pills are helping my tendonitis so I’ll be good. Chase couldn’t guarantee that my ATM card would work in Kenya or Tanzania, thanks to Homeland Security. Not sure how that works…seems to me it should be Dept. of State, but what do I know. I called Wels Fargo and notified them of my travel. They had no problem setting up my card. I called Chase back and after 15 minutes and threatening to close my account, suddenly the ‘Senior Supervisor’ made it so the card would work. I told them that I didn’t appreciate a bureaucratic lie that Homeland Security made this decision, when it is a Chase policy. He just said that all three previous people had been misinformed. Yeah, right. We’ll see.

MARIN COUNTY, Calif. - A California man is suing the state Department of Fish and Game, claiming a "mismanaged" wild deer attacked him, a court document shows. Thadeusz Wyrzykowski of Bolinas said in his handwritten court filing that he suffered injuries from falling into a window after deer jumped into his fenced yard last spring and "attacked me (twice) on a narrow path." Asking for unspecified damages, he wrote in his filing that the wildlife department "mismanaged negligently its animal its claims & duties."
A case management conference was scheduled for Oct. 19 in Marin Superior Court, the Marin Independent Journal reported Monday. The newspaper said Wyrzykowski filed another handwritten lawsuit in federal court last year against the Marin County Assessor-Recorder's Office over the county's efforts to collect overdue property taxes from him, in which he described himself as an "independent dignity ambassador" and "orator/scholar/artist." Deputy County Counsel Edward Kiernan called that suit full of "nonsensical, irrelevant non sequitors" and "legally meaningless and pointless facts." That suit was dismissed, the newspaper noted.
Somewhat Useless Information
  • Avoid those inky messes inside your purse by storing your ballpoint pens inside a plastic toothbrush container. Your purse will stay clean and stain-free.
  • Cover the bottom of your trash can with a layer of old newspapers. They absorb any liquids that leak from your garbage and keep crumbs and dirt from falling to the bottom. Change the newspaper about once a week.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site has mistakes and sadly once out the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
