 Today’s Birthdays:
How many can you identify?…answers in Today’s Birthdays

My Free Rambling Thoughts
A great lazy Saturday. Caught up on some DVR shows and read the articles on Threat Assessment. Some very interesting thought provoking ideas. Their view is that the number one threat for us is a pandemic and that terrorism is low on the list. High on the list is global economic collapse. Low on the list is China/US relations. Even though the US owes China a lot of money, it is a symbiotic relationship, much like the old cold war US/USSR relation, when both sides holding off the other with nuclear weapons. Today it is holding off with economics. Iran is seen as a greater threat than N. Korea. Looking forward to a good discussion tonight.

As I keep posting that Flagstaff and most of N. AZ is under a fire watch, we have been luck, compared to NM and CO and UT. The fire in CO that is on the brink of destroying South Fork and a ski area is well known to me…I drove that road many a time from the Rez to Denver to visit family. Seems like every year there is less snow, earlier heat and wind, and more fires. Call it whatever you want, it is devastating to so many who live in the West.

Yeah, It Really Happened
ANCHORAGE, Alaska - An alleged shoplifter in an Anchorage, Alaska, Walmart attempted to escape by shooting at a locked door and removing his pants, police said. When employees confronted the man early Wednesday, he ran to a locked door, fired his gun at it, then ran outside to remove his shoes and pants before running home, Anchorage police allege. Wesley Weinburger, 22, was tracked to his Anchorage home by a police dog, where police arrested him on charges of robbery, criminal mischief and theft, police spokeswoman Dani Myren said. "When they [police] contacted the suspect he was wearing a shirt and some boxer shorts," Myren said. An assistant manager and another employee confronted Weinburger in the store when he was observed to hide a pair of windshield wiper blades in his clothing, the Anchorage Daily News reported.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site has mistakes and sadly once out the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
