 Today’s Birthdays:
How many can you identify?…answers in Today’s Birthdays

My Free Rambling Thoughts
Little too windy outside today.  Not a lot to do, so just enjoyed Sunday. Strange phone call this afternoon set me off. My pharmacy called to say my scripts would not be ready until Monday after 2p. Since they told me yesterday they hadn’t received any scripts, I questioned the poor tech mercilessly. How could the scripts they didn’t have yesterday suddenly appear today? She said they were ‘in the system since Friday and doesn’t know why they didn’t show up’. How could they not have a common script? Talked to the new male pharmacist and he was of very little help. He said something about he was just trying to keep the ship on course and understood my frustration. This is not going to end well for them.

One of my Sunday shows that keeps me up to date is Fareed on CNN. It gets preempted when there is breaking news. Today the breaking news was an hour of ‘the house and the senate have not reached an agreement.’ Hate to tell you folks at CNN, but that is far from ‘breaking news’. Fareed would have been a much better choice for them.

So it’s Columbus Day. It seems to be another piece of proof that those with power win. Ol Chris found a land full of many cultures. He was not the first, just the loudest. He didn’t even know where he was. I had to laugh the other day when an Indian comic from Mumbai, India was blaming Ol Chris for making all of his people have to reidentify themselves when they came to the US as many could no longer identify themselves as Indian, without having to add ‘from India’.
Broncos win; Cards lose…not news…just facts.

Amazing Facts About The Human Body
Stomach: The stomach’s digestive acids are strong enough to dissolve zinc. Fortunately for us, the cells in the stomach lining renew so quickly that the acids don’t have time to dissolve it.
Unusual Fact of the Day

Yeah, It Really Happened
COLUMBUS, Ga. The headmaster of a school in Georgia says he plans to cancel classes because of great weather.
Len McWilliams of Calvary Christian School in Columbus says he's calling off classes Friday because of a commitment he made to find a positive reason to cancel classes before he retires at the end of the year.
McWilliams told the Ledger-Enquirer of Columbus he's had to cancel school because of bad weather for years, and thought he should eventually cancel classes because the weather was just too nice for students and staff to be cooped up all day.
The forecast for the Columbus area calls for sunny skies and a temperature of more than 80 degrees.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site has mistakes and sadly once out the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
