 Today’s Birthdays:
How many can you identify?…answers in Today’s Birthdays

My Free Rambling Thoughts
Beautiful day, high clouds, can’t complain about the weather.

The straw of that infamous camel’s back was finally broken today. CVS pharmacy in Flagstaff will no longer be my pharmacy…after almost 8 years. Stopped in to get an eye drop script filled and pick up my Lipitor script. They said it would be 35 min, so I decided to get my flu shot while waiting. Filled out the forms, waited 20 minutes and had the pharmacist finally call me to the window to be told they didn’t have the ‘patient information sheet’ and so I couldn’t get the shot. Talked to the store manager who told me to call the Pharmacy overseerer, Bert. I decided to pick up the two scripts when I get the shot next week. Called the number and was told it Bert would contact me within 2 business days. Unacceptable. The lady said that was corporate policy. About 2 hours after this the pharmacy called to say that my Lipitor would not be ready since they didn’t have it on hand. Then Bert called. He admitted that there were serious problems at that store and he didn’t know how long it would take to fix it. I told him that I would pick up my scripts, get my shot and no longer shop there. He said he was sorry. Then about 10 minutes later the pharmacy called to say I could get my flu shot as the district manager had told them how to print it out on the magic computer and that my Lipitor would be in tomorrow. We’ll see, but that will be my last trip there.

Amazing Facts About The Human Body
Heat In 30 minutes, the average body gives off enough heat (combined) to bring a half gallon of water to boil.
Unusual Fact of the Day
The only U.S. sports teams whose names don't end in 'S' are: the Miami Heat, Orlando Magic, Utah Jazz, and Oklahoma City Thunder (NBA); the Boston Red Sox and Chicago White Sox (MLB); and the Colorado Avalanche, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Minnesota Wild (NHL).

Joke-of-the-day
Two drunks are walking along. One drunk says to the other, "What a beautiful night, look at the moon."
The other drunk stops and looks at his drunken friend, "You are wrong. That's not the moon, that's the sun."
Both started arguing for a while when they came upon another drunk walking, so they stopped him. "Sir, could you please help settle our argument? Tell us what that thing is up in the sky that's shining. Is it the moon or the sun?"
The third drunk looked at the sky and then looked at them and said, "Sorry, I don't live around here."

Yeah, It Really Happened
The students wanted the answers to a math problem set, but it looks like their T.A. forgot to check her work.
Earlier this week, students in a math for business class at the University of Iowa, which is quickly becoming a college of ill repute for its debauchery and general WTF-ness, received an email from their math T.A. that was supposed to contain answers to their homework.
But when they opened the attached .zip files for "the solutions for number 76 and 78," they got an eyeful of their T.A. and her male companion. The images were obtained, allegedly via students, by humor sites like Total Frat Move, which published a description of the homemade porn.
Somewhat Useless Information
  • Tired of the cold weather? Take a vacation on the hottest planet in the solar system – Venus. At over 800 degrees, it is hotter than Mercury because the clouds and abundant carbon dioxide hold in most of the heat received from the sun.
  • Ever notice on a map how the South American and African coasts, along the Atlantic, fit together like two pieces of a giant puzzle? That is because at one time, millions of years ago, they were one continent. Magma from deep in the Earth broke through thin places between these continents and pushed them apart. They are still slowly moving apart and the Atlantic ocean is growing wider.
  • The lead in pencils, really graphite, is made of the exact same thing as diamonds. Both are pure carbon which just formed under different pressures and temperatures. Intense heat and pressure form the carbon atoms into crystals making diamond, while lesser heat and pressure form the carbon into sheets making graphite.
  • Geologists have discovered there seems to be more water miles deep between the rocks of Earths mantle than in all the oceans of the world. The intense pressure of the tons of rocks above keeps the hot water from turning to steam and escaping.

Disclaimer: All opinions are mine…feel free to agree or disagree.
All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site has mistakes and sadly once out the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
