 Today’s Birthdays:
How many can you identify? Answers in Today’s Birthdays

My Free Rambling Thoughts
A nice Monday, but still a little chilly for my taste. Still waiting for some of the snow to melt, it’s the snow that sits in the parking lot in the shade for the winter. It should be gone by May. It is not a lot of snow, just enough to be a small bother, but not enough for me to go out and break up the ice and shovel.

Finished paying for my Cuba trip in March. Getting excited. Sure to be an interesting trip…with lots of culture and educational experiences. I also spent some time getting my Christmas pictures off my phone and onto my computer.   Also found some Canada trip pictures I had never downloaded from the phone. Now the phone has no pictures so guess it is time to start snapping again. So easy to download these days, and fairly easy to start the new year by organizing everything into the right folders. Ready for 2014 pictures.

Brain Teasers
The following two 4x4 grids each contain a 12-letter word. Each word is formed by a chain of letters. A word can begin with any of the letters. The second letter of a word is adjacent (either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally) to the first letter, the third letter is adjacent to the second, and so on. No letter can be used more than once. Four letters in each grid will be unused.

Odd Lawsuits…
Unpredictable Weather
In 1996, an Israeli woman sued a TV station for predicting the wrong weather forecast. She was dressed improperly for her commute, and had to go home and change, causing her to be late for work. She asked for $1000, and actually won the case.

Unusual Fact of the Day
"Sternutation" is a fancy word for the act of sneezing.

Joke-of-the-day
A plane was taking off from Kennedy Airport. After it reached a comfortable cruising altitude, the captain made an announcement over the intercom, "Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. Welcome to Flight Number 293, non-stop from New York to Los Angeles. The weather ahead is good and, therefore, we should have a smooth and uneventful flight. Now sit back and relax - OH, MY G-D!"
Silence followed, and after a few minutes the captain came back on the intercom and said, "Ladies and Gentlemen, I am so sorry if I scared you earlier; but, while I was talking, the flight attendant brought me a cup of coffee and spilled the hot coffee in my lap. You should see the front of my pants!"
A passenger in Coach said, "That's nothing. He should see the back of mine!"

BUILDING A STONE WALL
You should plan on ordering (or collecting) two cubic yards of stone for every cubic yard of finished wall.
Yeah, It Really Happened
According to police, the host of the New Year’s Eve party became upset when the victim (that is the soon-to-be nine-toed lesbian) told her about an altercation with a male partier around 3 a.m.
Accusing her of ruining the party, the female host punched the woman repeatedly until the victim attempted to flee. They then continued the altercation in the street. Having wrestled one another to the ground, the fight ended in gruesome fashion when the host bit off the little toe of the victim's left foot.
A friend of the victim drove her from the Dorchester district to the Boston Medical Center for treatment.
Officers received a call from the hospital around 5 a.m. reporting an assault and battery.
Detectives are investigating the incident, which left both women with scratches on their arms. The victim, whose name was not released, also had scratches on her forehead, neck and chest.
The cause of the initial fight was the victim approaching the man's girlfriend and asking her if she would like to "hook up". He grabbed her round the neck before releasing her.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site has mistakes and sadly once out the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
