My Free Rambling Thoughts
An interesting day…woke up with a sore foot/ankle for no apparent reason. Got a little better throughout the day, but still sore. No idea what is going on…just hard to walk very far. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Was able to watch a lot of Olympics. So amazing to me to watch these young athletes give their all for their sport. I don’t follow any of the sports except during the Olympics so the commentary is very valuable. I’m sure the aficionados of each sport finds the commentary quite crazy as it is a fine line the commentators have to walk to keep both the casual watcher and the aficionado pleased with their comments.  It’s working for me, so I’m happy with the coverage.

Throw some anagrams around! In the sentences below, there are 10 jumbled phrases. Each is an anagram of a word or phrase that helps complete the story. Can you decipher all 10?
The kids were playing on the WET SIGNS, Uncle Frank and Jack from next door were playing a game of HOSS HEROES, and it was time for the grill. The THICK TRIO was lighted, and the TOAST PIE had been dusted off. Kristen, their teenager, was stretched out on the EAGLE CUSHION and talking on her CLONE HELP as usual. The RUM LABEL offered some shade, and it was time for the announcement: "NO HBO CONCERT!" This followed by PRESCRIBE MAD HUB and a genial reminder: TO CHOKE SKIES!

"Mad Men" The unglamorous side of selling the American dream is vividly realized in Matthew Weiner's gorgeous but bleak paean to the swinging '60s.

When table tennis was originally created in 1889, it was called gossima.
Joke-of-the-day
A man got really drunk one night in his local pub. The barman refused to serve him any more alcohol and told him he should be heading home. The man thought this was a good idea so he stood up to leave but fell over straight away. He tried to stand up again but only fell over again. He thought if only he could get outside and get some fresh air he'd be grand. So he crawled outside then tried to stand up and fell over again. In the end after falling over lots more he decided to crawl home. When he got back to his house he pulled himself up using the door handle but as soon as he let go he fell over again. He had to crawl up the stairs and managed to fall over onto the bed and fell asleep.
When he finally woke up the next morning his wife asked him what he was doing at the pub last night. He denied it but she said, "I know you were there..." he maintained his innocence until "...the barman rang to say you forgot your wheelchair again...."

BRADENTON, Fla. - Prosecutors in Florida said they have decided not to pursue a case against a woman accused of beating her boyfriend for refusing to cuddle with her in bed.
A Jan. 24 Circuit Court filing from an assistant state attorney said prosecutors have decided not to pursue the misdemeanor battery charge against Shavonna Rumph, 31, who allegedly attacked live-in boyfriend Henry Price, 33, after a night of drinking, the Smoking Gun website reported Thursday. The Manatee County Sheriff's Office arrest report said Rumph became angry at Price Dec. 28 when he refused to cuddle with her while they were in bed. Rumph allegedly tore Price's shirt and threatened him with a knife during the ensuing argument.
Somewhat Useless Information
  • Common dream motifs that transcend cultural and socio-economic boundaries include falling, flying, nakedness in public, and unpreparedness. Such shared dreams arise from experiences and anxieties fundamental to all people.
  • While dream interpretation may not be accurate, it is certainly not new. The Beatty Papyrus, written around 1350 B.C. and discovered at Thebes, is the oldest dream dictionary existing today. It describes special dream-interpreting priests called 'Masters of the Secret Things' or 'Learned Ones of the Magic Library.'

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site has mistakes and sadly once out the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
