My Free Rambling Thoughts

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mom’s out there. My mom is gone, but never forgotten. She had a great 89 year run. For decades my brother and I would send her a really nice bouquet of flowers for her birthday and for Mother's Day which she loved showing off to all her friends.

Spring Cleaning Saturday…got the master bath and master bedroom ready for spring. Those Shark steam cleaners sure make the job a lot easier. I’ve got one for the floors and a portable one for the small areas like baseboards and crevices that seem to be everywhere. It got a little windy this afternoon, but a great morning for a good walk. Hope you all left some food stuffs at your mailbox this morning. Good cause and so easy.

Somewhat Useless Information

Only recently, and mainly in Western countries, has smoking been seen as a serious health hazard. Smoking rates in the United States have dropped by half since 1965, from 42 percent to 26 percent of adults. Smoking in developing countries, however, is rising.

Within 20 minutes of quitting smoking, a person's blood pressure returns to normal. Within one year, the chance of suffering a heart attack decreases by half. Tobacco smoking, particularly cigarette smoking, is the single-most preventable cause of the death in the United States.

Disclaimer: All opinions are mine…feel free to agree or disagree.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site has mistakes and sadly once out the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
