My Rambling Thoughts
This is the last blog until I return from Ireland. Enjoy whatever you are doing.
Bags are packed and I’m ready to go. Thank goodness for Space Bags. Belfast, Dublin, and the Blarney stone await my arrival. I pick up the shuttle at 9a, then Phx, then Denver. We leave as a group on Tuesday morning.
Had a nice visit with my brother. He spent the weekend in WI at an in-laws Navy thing. Now they are off to LA for a week of photo shoots for her new line. They get back to NYC on the 15th.
This afternoon brought a nice monsoon rain…at least I’m ready for Ireland’s rain.

Brain Teasers
I'm full of keys whenever I'm made
I came about wooden when the Renaissance played

Hundreds of years later, I was divided
And two new keys to me were provided

Then in 1760, and that's forty years later
Three keys were added by Florio, Gedney, and Potter

Around the 80's of the century mentioned
I was used by Mozart and Haydn

Over the years, new keys were gained
In the 1830's, Beethoven used me to entertain

Near the end of the 1800's, or the 19th century
I was used by Brahms, Strauss, and Tchaikovsky

Now, modern renditions are made of me
Without my holes, I wouldn't be

What am I?

Rules of Thumb…
INSTALLING HARDWARE IS A SNAP!
If you are installing a new computer part, remember that you should never have to force equipment into the desired slot. If you find a part hard to insert into a slot on the motherboard, chances are you need to rotate the card or chip to face the opposite direction. Computers motherboards are designed to be put together with Zero Insertion Force (ZIF). A proper installation will quickly *snap* into the socket and feel solid.

Unusual Fact of the Day…
The dishwasher was invented by Josephine Cochrane— a socialite who was tired of servants breaking her expensive dishes.

Yeah, It Really Happened
AUSTIN, Texas (UPI) - A Texas man accused of attacking his neighbor allegedly told police the other man was using "triangulation" to speak to him inside his head. The Austin Police Department said Steven Anthony Garza, 34, allegedly entered his neighbor's yard about 7:30 p.m. Aug. 28 and used "aggressive" hand gestures the neighbor interpreted as an invitation to fight. Garza allegedly head-butted his neighbor and broke the antenna of the radio the other man was using to speak to his father. Police said the neighbor fled inside his home and Garza then dumped the other man's radio and remote-controlled drone over a fence, causing $4,000 in damage to the devices. Garza told officers he believed his neighbor was using the equipment to spy on him and the other man was using "triangulation" to speak inside his head, the arrest report said. Garza was taken to the Travis County Jail on charges of assault causing bodily injury and criminal mischief. He was ordered held in lieu of $10,000 bond.

Somewhat Useless Information
The Coliseum, also known as the Flavian Amphitheatre, is the largest amphitheater of the Roman Empire, as well as   the largest amphitheater in the world.
Did you know that the outer wall is estimated to have required over 100,000 cubic meters of travertine stone which were set without mortar; they were held together by 300 tons of iron clamps.
However, due to earthquakes it has suffered extensive damage over the centuries, with large segments having collapsed.

Did you know that 11% of the world’s countries sue citizens for blasphemy? Muslim countries, Germany, Greece, Italy, as well as Ireland are some of them, according to the Washington Post.
Penalties vary from just a fine or even to death, like it recently happened in Sudan.
However, as the newspaper points out, although the law is into force in many of these countries, citizens are not actually sued.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site has mistakes and sadly once out the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
