politics continues. Yesterday, the Nation’s President was seen at the
Washington/Cardinals games sitting with the owner of the Washington team and
wearing their cap. He was even identified by the commentators when there was a
crowd shot during the game. With all the controversy over the team name, many
saw this as a slam to those against the name. Others saw it as a slam against
the AZ team, since much of the rez in in AZ and there are no teams from either
NM or UT. Seems like he might be a little out of touch.
Sure
cooled off today…especially with the wind gusts. I had an eye appointment early
and even though I had on long sleeves, it was a little chilly at 8:15. Happy to
hear that my brain/eye connection looks really good, from a July test.

BUYING
A NEW CAR
The best time to purchase a new car is the last day
of the month because the sales staff want their monthly reports to look good
and are more likely to bargain. You can increase your chances of getting a good
deal by choosing the youngest salesperson on the floor.

Joke-of-the-day
A
couple walking in the park noticed a young man and woman sitting on a bench,
passionately kissing.
"Why don't you do that?" said the wife.
"Honey," replied her husband, "I don't even know that woman!"

A
"birthday treat" lap dance went spectacularly wrong for a man who had
to enlist the help of eight firefighters to bust him out of handcuffs.
The man was celebrating his birthday with a lap dance at a private residence in Queenstown, New Zealand when he got trapped in handcuffs.
The female dancer and others tried to free him but failed, so they called emergency around 12:30 a.m..
Volunteer fire brigade senior firefighter Paul Halsted, who eventually freed the man from his cuff hold, said the group met firefighters at the station after trying both the police station and medical center.
"There was nobody there. We were all in bed so they called 111 to try to get some help."
Just to make sure things stayed nice and discreet to avoid any embarrassment, a total of eight firefighters were roused to attend the situation.
Halsted said one of the cuffs had tightened around the man's wrist and previous attempts to get it off had tightened it further.
Luckily for the birthday gang, Halsted managed to pry it apart and release the locking mechanism.
"They weren't police handcuffs, there was no substantial locking mechanism. I guess you'd describe them as recreational."
Fellow senior firefighter Nathan Clark described it as "a birthday treat gone wrong".

Which is the
traditional way of eating sushi?
Have you ever taken a
cultural lesson regarding the correct way to eat sushi? Do you think that
eating sushi with chopsticks is the traditional way? Read the article and find
out!
The traditional way
of eating sushi is with the fingers, this is why there is a wet towel on the
table. So, we have to use the towel to clean our fingers, then put it aside.
However, if you still
want to eat sushi with chopsticks, you have to follow several tips. For
example, when not eating, your chopsticks should be put on the holder beside of
your plate, tidy and parallel to the table, rather than on the plate or your
dipping bowl. Leaving your chopsticks anywhere else may indicate that you are
finished eating!

The Irish invented
capital letters
Celtic monks in
Ireland around the 7th century were among the most prolific of scribes at this
time and they preferred a more workaday script instead of writing entirely in
capital letters.
According to
historyworld.net, the Cathach of St Columba, dating perhaps from the early 7th
century and possibly written by the saint himself, also exemplifies one
profoundly influential innovation of the Irish monks.
The scribes write its
first letter much larger than the rest of the text and in a grander style to
emphasize the beginning of an important passage.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet
sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned
that every site contains mistakes and sadly once the information is out there,
many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events
occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be
totally accurate.
