My
Rambling Thoughts
Lazy Sunday with nice weather.
Watched several episodes of ‘House of Cards’ on Netflix. Great
storyline. Also caught up with Sunday News shows. Nothing spectacular.
Our little local paper announced that we can now get the digital
edition on line without paying each month. Tried to sign up, but it didn’t
work. Looking to see the real cost as the story stated that subscriptions would
be changed. Tried to call but the offices back east are closed. Oh well.

for the day
Did you hear the rumor about butter?
Never mind, I better not spread it.

A man asked his wife what she'd like for her
birthday.
"I'd like to be eight again..." she replied.
On the morning of her birthday, he arose early, made her a nice big bowl of
Coco Pops, and then took her off to the local theme park.
What a day! He put her on every ride in the park: the Death Slide, the Wall of
Fear, the Screaming Monster Roller Coaster, every thing there was.
Five hours later she staggered out of the theme park. Her head was reeling and
her stomach felt upside down.
Right away, they journeyed to a McDonald's where her loving husband ordered her
a Happy Meal with extra fries and a refreshing chocolate shake.
Then it was off to the movies with popcorn, all the Coke she could drink, and
her favorite M&M's. What a fabulous adventure!
Finally she wobbled home with her husband and collapsed into bed exhausted.
He leaned over his precious wife with a big smile and lovingly asked,
"Well, Dear, what was it like being eight again?"
Her eyes slowly opened and her expression suddenly changed. "I meant my
dress size!!!!!!!"
The moral of the story: Even when a man is listening, he's gonna get it wrong.

Yep, It
Really Happened
CHICAGO
(UPI)
More than 150 Chicago firefighters were called to fight flames at
a building housing one of the department's closest allies -- a fire
extinguisher factory. Chicago Fire Department officials said the building in
the Archer Heights neighborhood on the southwest side of the city ignited
Thursday night and the fire worsened to three alarms about 9:30 p.m., leading
to a total 156 firefighters responding with 26 pieces of equipment. A portion
of the building, which firefighters said housed a fire extinguisher
manufacturing business, collapsed as a result of the intense fire, the
department said. First Deputy Fire Commissioner Charles Stewart III said the
nature of the blaze made it difficult to reach the flames with water. "We
had one engine feed another engine to another engine until we got water on the
fire," he told WMAQ-TV. Firefighters said no injuries were reported and
the cause of the fire remained under investigation Friday.

The
common thing between classical and heavy metal music
Professor
Adrian North has conducted a study demonstrating the links between musical
tastes and personality type.
The
outcomes show that classical and heavy metal music attract listeners with similar
personalities but dissimilar ages.
“Younger
members of the personality group apparently go for heavy metal, while their
older counterparts prefer classical. However, both have the same basic
motivation: to hear something dramatic and theatrical, a shared ‘love of the
grandiose,’ he said.

Disclaimer: All
opinions are mine…feel free to agree or disagree.
All ‘data’ info is
from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source,
but I have learned that every site contains mistakes and sadly once the
information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult
to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted
[1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
