My Rambling Thoughts
Got a little rain last night. The way it’s blowing and the dark clouds to the west look like more is on the way.
Ran into some friends from TC. Found out my great superintendent had fallen and broken his femur. Called him, as we have lunch every so often. He is doing fine. Got a pin, and rotates between a walker and crutches. Says it will take 4-6 weeks to heal. Tough. Glad he is dealing with it well.
I’m heading to the Amazon in the spring. So I am very aware of news and stuff from that area. I was shocked when I read articles about illegal gold miners finding Indigenous people who have had no contact with outsiders and deciding the best thing to do was to shoot them, killing many women and children. I hope they identify and prosecute these idiots.
Cleanup in Florida and the Keys is amazing. What a mess. I am all for helping those who lost everything. However so of these people were not eligible for flood insurance, because of their location. Others just didn’t buy available flood insurance. Seems to me there should some kind of penalty for those people. It is great to live your life in your own paradise, but not at the expense of others. Just a thought.

Bizarre News
Horry County police said that they stopped a local town mayor for cutting his mother-in-law's lawn. And riding his lawn mower on a public road while drinking beer.
Police released a video showing John Gardner, the mayor of Aynor, South Carolina, riding a lawnmower with an open can of beer. After police officers stopped him, they ordered Gardner to pour the beer on the ground.
The officers then allowed Gardner to continue, because rank hath its privileges, and reported the incident to the Town of Aynor.
Gardner defended himself, saying that he cut the grass of his mother-in-law's lawn and then went to the gas station to refuel.
Gardner bought the can of beer at the gas station.
Gardner said that he only opened the can of beer after police ordered him to pour the beverage on the ground.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site contains mistakes and sadly once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
