My Rambling Thoughts
Today would have been my father’s 104th birthday. He made it to 80 years old. As a father, he took very good care of my mom, my brother and I. His father had died of a heart attack on Christmas Eve while doing last minute shopping when my dad was 5. So he grew up with his mom and older sister. He worked hard his whole life. When he retired at 65 he got another job and continued to work until he was 75. When they bought the house we grew up in, it had an unfinished basement. My grandfather, my dad, and my mom finished the basement with a sewing room, game room (man cave), storage room for all the food my mom canned, a second bathroom, a second kitchen (for the canning), and a shop. He also built a full covered patio, a half-court basketball court, and a small cement pond. He also dug several wells over the years to water our huge lawn and garden. All the time working a full-time job, and sometimes an evening job. He was always there for our family. He is still missed.
The monsoon has let up here. Only light rain a couple of time yesterday, and probably the same today. After our last big storm, we all needed a break.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site contains mistakes and sadly once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
