My Rambling Thoughts
Nice
day here. Headed out early to get my weekly groceries. It’s ‘old people’s day’
and everything I bought, including sale items were 10% off. Good deal, every
first Wednesday of every month.
So,
finally the voting is over. Congrats to the winners, especially the many women
in politics for the first time. Many must wait a few days for final results,
including the race for Senate in AZ. Now we get a short break before the 2020
election chaos starts. I’m happy that we now have a split congress. Time to
heal. Hopefully the last robocall on the election came to my house at 8:30p
last night, an hour after the polls closed. The first questions: ‘are you
planning on voting today?’ I just hung up.
I
got an email from the PA who works with my wrist surgeon reminding me of an
appointment I never made. I called and it is a follow-up on the plate removal.
While the Dr. is very good, his staff is insane. The only appointment I have
had any say in was the initial appointment. (I got to choose 8:15 or 9:00) This
is the 4th appointment they have made without my input. I thought I
was finished with this episode, but I guess not. Oh well. I’ll be there.
I
have one comment for all the early voters. If you choose to vote early, please
mail it in EARLY. One of the reasons we have to wait a few days for results is
that many ‘early’ voters brought their early ballot to the polling site on
election day. In AZ they are sent then to the
recorder’s office after the polls close. Then the signature verification
begins. Then they are counted. It can
take 2-4 days to count these ballots.
