Today’s Quote

Believe and act as if it were impossible to fail.

Random Tidbits

The phrase "tying the knot" came from the Swiss, who still incorporate the lucky pretzel in wedding ceremonies. Newlyweds traditionally make a wish and break the pretzel, in the same way people in other cultures break a wishbone or a glass.
***

Hard pretzels were "invented" in the late 1600s, when a napping apprentice in a Pennsylvania bakery accidentally overbaked his pretzels. His job was spared when the master baker took a bite out of one and loved it.

My Rambling Thoughts

Sun is shining, it is warming up. Just waiting for the next snowstorm. Roads are clear, but there are still some remnants of the last storm covering the ground.

Guess this shutdown is going to continue. And 45 is going to make a speech and then visit the border. More distraction.

I woke up this morning about 6a and realized how well I have been sleeping since my return from Chicago. No awakening in the middle of the night for any reason. Nice to have a good night’s sleep every night.

Independent contractors have to always hustle. Finding contracts is a time-consuming process.  In the past, getting a government contract was a good thing. No more. I heard on contractor who has gone to Go Fund Me to get rent and food money for the next 2 months because the government contract is no longer paying her because of the shutdown. And what about all the TSA workers who are working with no idea when they will get paid. This is insanity.
