Random Tidbits
Officially, the
longest war in history was between the Netherlands and the Isles of Scilly,
which lasted from 1651 to 1986. There were no casualties.
The
Anglo-Zanzibar war of 1896 is the shortest war on record lasting an exhausting
38 minutes.

My Rambling Thoughts
Nice, lazy fall day. Took a short walk
after it warmed up.
For the record: I do not want a moat
around the border fence, I don’t want human beings trying to cross the border
shot, or separated from their children. I do want a President who holds a joint
press conference with another world leader and talk only about their meeting, I
don’t want one leader taking over the press conference to rant.
I saw an interesting study today on the
internet machine:
AZ is the 27th richest
state, CO is the 11th richest state.
29.7% of AZ residents have a BA; 41.7%
of CO have one.
14% of AZ residents live in poverty;
9.6% of CO residents.
AZ median income: $53,244; CO median
income $71,933.
Sure hope Bernie recovers quickly
after getting 2 stents. I got one stent decades ago and I’m still good.
I’m sure many who have not work in the
Federal Government know little about the Inspector Generals. Basically they are
the top lawyer of the Agency or Department. They work with a huge staff of
other lawyers. There are Deputy IG’s, Assistant IG’s, and staff. BIA, in the Dept.
of Interior, had an IG + Deputies + staff and they reported to the Dept. of
Interior IG. Over the years I was aware of several IG issues with schools where
I worked. When the Agency calls and the IG staff will be visiting the school,
it is a very big deal. I never knew why they were coming, until they arrived. They
interviewed me, as acting principal, then interviewed whatever employees they
wished to. Then they left. Months later they sent their findings down through
the channels to the Superintendent who then shared what s/he could to the
principal. No others ever heard from management what was discovered, but could
see local school personnel changes when they occurred. With all the news about various IG’s
work, this is a really big deal.

This thing all things devours,
Birds, beasts, trees, flowers,
Gnaws iron, bites steel,
Grinds hard stones to meal,
Slays king, ruins town,
And beats mountain down.
