Random Tidbits
The
word "witch" comes from the Old English wicce, meaning "wise
woman." In fact, wiccan were highly respected people at one time.
According to popular belief, witches held one of their two main meetings, or
sabbats, on Halloween night.
The
owl is a popular Halloween image. In Medieval Europe, owls were thought to be
witches, and to hear an owl's call meant someone was about to die.

My Rambling Thoughts
Warmed
up enough for a nice walk today.
Here
in AZ, off the Navajo Nation, we don’t have to change our clocks twice a year.
As all of you from outside AZ, and a few other places, wake up in the dark
tomorrow, just think, here we have been doing that for several weeks. Remember, cutting an inch off a blanket and
sewing it to the opposite end doesn’t make it longer.
Many
people like to sue others when they feel they have been wronged. The courts don’t
always agree. Sheriff Joe Arpaio filed a lawsuit against CNN, Huffington Post,
and the Rolling Stone for $330million when they wrote that the ‘convicted felon’
was running for Sheriff again, at age 80. He claimed that Trump’s pardon erased
his conviction. It didn’t and a judge threw his lawsuit out. He also has a
lawsuit for $147million against the NY Times for libel. No word on it yet.
AZ
Public Service, APS, provides my electricity. I signed up on their website for
paperless billing and the ability to look at my bill on line when I moved in
here. I get an email for the amount due. Every 6 months or so I check my
account to be sure everything is still working. My last email had a bill a
little higher than I expected. I tried for two days to log on, but couldn’t. I
called today and was told I didn’t have my account set up to view my bill. They
sent me a link, which still won’t let me set up a new account. I have to wait
until Monday to get it fixed. I guess
looking at your account on line is a big deal for them. They have so many
security questions just to set up an account, I guess they have problems with total
strangers paying residential bills for their customers or they are afraid a
total stranger will see my bill. I really have nothing to hide, I use
electricity everyday and I don’t care who knows it.
