Random Tidbits

Approximately 10-20% of U.S. power outages are caused by squirrels.

Nearly 3% of the ice in Antarctic glaciers is penguin urine.
Because the temperature in the Antarctic is well below zero, the urine can’t evaporate and just combines with the glaciers.

My Rambling Thoughts

Just after I returned from Mexico, I was greeted with a jury summons of the county. Don’t mind jury duty, but was concerned because there was also lots of news about a murder trial by the county.  A student killed one and injured 4 others about a year ago on the local campus. Then I read that he had pleaded guilty to 2nd degree murder. When I called about my jury summons, I learned a couple of things…first the trial was cancelled. There were four groups of jury pool people called for ‘a’ trial. I was in the 3pm group. Because of the large number of jurors, I am pretty sure that this was for the murder trial. I probably wouldn’t have been selected, but am glad I didn’t have to find out.

After calling about the jury summons, I headed out for a haircut, as I was getting a little shaggy, Sam’s weekly visit, and fill up with gas. Even with the wind, I got everything done fairly quickly. Sam’s gas was $2.50 whereas other stations around town were about $2.69. Always looking for value.

I guess we can all relax now that the rift in the Royal Family of Great Britain has been resolved by the Queen. Too bad she can’t step in to solve other problems like Brexit, the Middle East, …

Puzzle Answer:

9 o'clock. Since there are twelve hours between the two times, and half of that time equals six, then the halfway mark is 7 o'clock. If it was 7 o'clock, two hours ago, the time now would be 9 o'clock.
