Tidbits
Irving Berlin wrote patriotic songs in WWI and WWII.
In 1917, during World War
I, the U.S. Army drafted Berlin to write patriotic songs. In order to raise
funds for a community building on his Long Island army base, he wrote Yip!
Yip! Yaphank! During World War II, Berlin wrote This Is The Army,
which became a Broadway musical and 1943 film starring Ronald Reagan. Berlin
chose not to personally profit from the show - he gave all the earnings, over
$9.5 million, to the U.S. Army Emergency Relief Fund.

My
Rambling Thoughts
A
windy day. Typical.
Andy
and Faith are back from their short vaca with her family. They had a great
time. I dropped off their garage opener after my successful blood draw.
My
appointment with the blood doc was changed to a video one tomorrow. Glad because
his office takes a long time to even get inside…fill out a form, take your
temp, wear a mask and then check in and wait for blood draw. Crazy.
As
the country opens and AZ has staggering positive cases, this sounds like a good
idea: Businesses would be part of a grading system for their Covid19
precautions. Restaurants already have a successful grading protocol for safety
violations and the letter grade they get directly affects the number of
patrons. So why not a grading system for how a business is having precautions
for their patrons. The more precautions, the higher the grade.
