everything seems to be going against you,
remember
that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it."

Random
Tidbits
Chew
the fat
Originally
a sailor’s term, this phrase refers to the days before refrigeration when ships
carried food that wouldn’t spoil. One of them was salted pork skin, which
consisted largely of fat. Sailors would only eat it if all other food was gone…
and they often complained as they did. This idle chatter became known as
“chewing the fat.”

A little
humor
From Actual Medical Records
The patient will need
disposition, and therefore we will get Dr. Blank to dispose of him.
Healthy-appearing, decrepit 69-year-old
male, mentally alert but forgetful.
The patient has no past history
of suicides.
The patient expired on the floor
uneventfully.

True Things
After
taking a sex toy from a shelf at a Florida adult novelty store, a woman removed
her clothes and began using the device inside the business, police charge. A
Fort Pierce officer was dispatched to the Lion's Den Adult Superstore "in
reference to a disturbance," according to an arrest affidavit. En route to
the business, a dispatcher noted that "there was a female in the store
wearing a purple shirt and had on no pants." A worker explained that the
masturbating suspect had removed a sex toy from the packaging and was now fully
nude. The woman, the worked added, had disappeared into a stock room with the
sex toy. When he entered the stock room, the officer found Theresa Stanley, 36,
"sitting in an office chair with her feet up on the table." Stanley
had a pink colored sex toy in her hand and was using the device in a
"masturbatory manner." Right after the cop appeared, Stanley stopped
making use of the sex toy and dropped it on the ground. She is being held in
lieu of $1500 bond.

My
Rambling Thoughts
Midweek and suddenly my Office programs don’t work…again. It took
the tech 2 full hours to fix it, but he did, and it works. I thought I would be
saving time and money to get Office online. I was wrong on both counts, but now
I’m stuck with monthly fixes and my one year subscription isn’t up until June
2021.
Fires and hurricanes are big news. For the fires, while our little
town is still having hazy days, it turns out the smoke has made it to NYC and
it is believed that in a few days, Europe will also have the CA/CO fire’s smoke
in their atmosphere. I’m watching closely as the storm surge of Sally hits many
in the Gulf and beyond. So tough to add this to Covid.
When will ICE release the truth? A detained female in a Texas
detention center reported sexual abuse. She was deported back to drug cartels
who had threatened her. DOJ let it happen, said she could have tele-interviews.
Then there is the Georgia detention center where there appears to have been
widespread unwarranted hysterectomies on young women during detention. This
inhumane treatment must be stopped.
Mexico is having problems. While in office, President Calderon
bought a new business plane…for a mere $215million. Delivery came in President
Nieto’s term and he didn’t use it. Then it was President Obrado. He tried to sell
it, but there were no buyers at that price. He set up a lottery @ USD$25
tickets where the winner would get the plane. Then it was learned that the cost
of upkeep was about USD$1million/year. Then the lottery changed to a $1million
peso prize with extra money going to the Health Care System for COVID. The lottery
is still open, so time will tell if this time it works.
In good news, Bahrain has joined UAE to have diplomatic relations
with Israel. This is a big step toward peace and the Trump Administration gets
credit. Hoping that the administration can continue to work on bringing peace
to the Middle East.
