Random Tidbits
The
cells of every living organism contain deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), a nucleic
acid that holds the genetic instructions for the development and functioning of
a life form. It is this substance that allows a living thing to grow and
reproduce.

The Anchorage, Alaska, Daily News reported on March 26 that customers at a
local Costco store are routinely robbed of large cuts of meat as they transfer
their groceries to their cars ... by ravens. More than a year ago, Olani Saunoa
was buckling her toddler into a car seat when a raven swooped in and grabbed a
package of short ribs from her car. "He had picked up the entire
package," she said. And this year it happened to her again -- a bird
snatched a pack of pork ribs. Other customers are reporting similar incidents
on social media. Rick Sinnott, a former wildlife biologist, isn't surprised:
Ravens "much prefer ... a package of short ribs from Costco to half of a
hamburger bun from McDonald's." [Anchorage Daily News, 3/26/2021]

My Sometimes-Long-Winded
Thoughts
Great spring day. Headed out early to get some essentials.
The Torch Relay for the
upcoming Olympics will not be going through Hiroshima, Japan due to an increase
in Covid. More event changes or cancellations are expected. A very tough call
for IOC and Japan.
Liz Cheney gave an
on-point speech to the House floor last night, as the Republican Caucus walked
out on her speech. She says she will be active in Conservative views in her
Congressional speech. In the current climate in the Republican Caucus, truth about
the election doesn’t seem to have a place, but support of the Former President
is all it takes to gain power. Sure glad this isn’t my circus.
Our forest has moved to
Stage 1 Fire Restrictions...no open fires, no grills. We are getting ready for fire
season.
My neighbor needs a ride
to the heart of the Rez sometime this week to pick up his vehicle from his brother.
I agreed to take him. While it is a lot of driving, that part of the Rez is
very picturesque so I’ll enjoy the drive. I’ll get a nice meal out of it too.
