Lovers Day The
Duchess Who Wasn’t Day Perhaps
the most important reason to celebrate this day is to honor Margaret
Hungerford, who made great contributions to literature. She captured the
essence of modern society at the time, often using the setting of Ireland as
the setting for her novels, but also as the backdrop for her stories. To
maintain morality appropriate to the time, relying on flirtatious dialogue
and tender love scenes, Margaret’s turn-of-the-century romance style was very
en vogue, keeping moral values upright and morally contemporary. The Irish
author Margaret Wolfe Hungerford was not actually a duchess, but a celebrated
novelist of the late 19th century who wrote largely under the assumed name
“The Duchess”. Just

My
Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts
A
warm and nice day. I had lunch with Mary. Good food, better conversation. Nice
all around.
My
day started with an email from Medicare. Turns out my CPAP machine might be
recalled. I called my CPAP provider as soon as they opened. He said I needed to
call the tollfree number in the email and that he can’t do anything. I called,
had a terrible connection, finally just hung up and called again. They
registered the machine and said to keep checking the website for updates. They
said I shouldn’t use the machine. I called back to the CPAP provider and spoke
to the respiratory therapist. Finally got some answers. Phillips, the company
who makes the machine, discovered that those people who use the ‘So Clean’
machine to keep the machine clean also causes something inside to deteriorate which
leaves black foam particles in the water. That can be inhaled and cause
problems for the patient. The problem has happened to 0.02% of users. He said
he has been dealing with this for 2 months. He said I have to make my own
decisions. There are no new machines available due to ‘manufacturing’ problems.
He said to call my physician. I called and left a message regarding the
machine. I’m sure I’ll get the same answers. The therapist also said he has
been checking the website for 2+ months and no new information has been posted
in all that time.
Then
I turned on the TV to see the horror in Afghanistan. What a mess and everybody
is very busy spinning the story and pointing fingers. That doesn’t help the
dead Marines or the dead Afghans.

people who died from COVID in the early days…that number jumped by
12,000 the Cuomo administration had not released. Very sad and disturbing.
