My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts

 

Every day I feel better. Getting back to my old self. I can climb the stairs again without having to hold onto the railing all the way up or down. Gabby Petitio is in the headlines. However, there are thousands of non-white missing persons who get no national coverage, and many don’t get even local coverage. In the 80’s a newborn was stolen from the Tuba City hospital. The mother was from Tonalea, where I worked. Her father was a bus driver at our school. There was lots of coverage throughout the reservation, Northern AZ, and nationally. Satellite trucks were around the community, interviewing anyone who they could get on the TV. The baby was found safe after a couple of weeks. Wyoming, where Gabby was found had 710 missing Natives; 57% were female; 85% were children. The media needs to change its criteria for making an abduction/missing person a National story. OMG…Cyber ninjas released their ‘audit’ of the AZ election in 2020. Biden won by a few more votes than previously announced. Even so, AZ is expecting to see many laws proposed to stop the steal that never happened. There was another mass shooting in Tennessee. Lots of coverage at the instant it happened, now 20 hours later, hardly on the news. Sad.
