Trivia
Russia is the largest country by land mass in
the world. At 6.5 million square miles (17 million square km), Russia is 1.8
times larger than the United
States and is slightly larger than Pluto. The
Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia, is comprised of 6 buildings with
3 million exhibits. If you spent 2 minutes at each exhibit, it would take 6
years to see everything. The museum is also home to about 70 cats as part of
a decree first instated in 1745 by Empress Elizabeth, daughter of Peter the
Great, to protect the priceless displays from rodents. |
My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts
A beautiful fall day. Ellie and
her fellow Focus Travelers are in Jordan for a long-awaited adventure. Then they
are off to the pyramids of Egypt. A great trip. What is
needed regarding Covid to end this mess? World-wide agreement is needed to
stop Covid: An agreement on travel; on vaccine mandates and procedures. Under
the current policies of many countries when a nation identifies a variant
there is an immediate travel ban which leads to massive economic problems. Especially
tourism. Some countries may decide transparency is simply too expensive. A World-wide
distribution of vaccine that is not currently happening. The Broncos
beat the Chargers yesterday. Nice win. A few
years ago I went with Focus to see the Gorillas of Uganda. A great
experience. Last night 60 Minutes did a segment of Rwanda’s gorillas.
Rwanda is the leader in expanding the species and expanding the gorilla’s
habitat. Awesome. |
