Trivia
A pieta is any representation of the Virgin
Mary mourning over the dead body of Christ, not just the famous one by
Michelangelo. Rembrandt
was his first name; his last name was van Rijn. |
My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts
Overcast and chilly…still awaiting the arrival of the snow. Andy and Faith
got back to Flag last night. I dropped off their mail this morning and we had
a good catch-up. They had a great trip and are happy to be back. The CEO of
‘Better.com” fired 15%, 900 employees, on a Zoom call. At the end of the call
he told them “if you are on this call, you are terminated effective now.” I
doubt that the former mortgage company employees feel ‘better.’ KY Derby
winner Medina Spirit died after a training session of a heart attack. This is
the horse involved in allegations of illegal drug use. We will learn later if
the heart attack was drug induced. Biden and
Putin had a 2-hour video call. At least neither hung up. Sounds like Biden laid
out what would happen if Putin invaded Ukraine. Now we all await Putin’s
response. |
